Asplenium nidus is an epiphytic fern with long, tongue-shaped leaves. Sometimes called the "bird's nest fern" because of the rosette arrangement of its fronds, this houseplant looks stunning when grown hanging. This indoor fern, native to tropical regions, particularly enjoys humid environments and bright rooms without direct sunlight.

Cutting or established plant?

What is a cutting?: A piece of a plant (stem, node or leaf) taken from a healthy mother plant, already rooted or ready to root. It is the cheapest way to start: the plant is young and needs a little patience while it settles in.
What is an established plant?: A plant that is already rooted and acclimatised, grown in a pot for several weeks or months. It picks its growth back up as soon as it reaches you — ideal if you want an immediate result.
Care tips: Originating from tropical and subtropical areas, it cannot tolerate temperatures below 10 °C, or even 15 °C. It needs a very airy, humus-rich substrate with an acidic tendency. Light should be soft and filtered, rather diffuse and moderate. Regular misting with rainwater (or boiled and cooled tap water) helps maintain a good level of humidity. It thrives in a terrarium.
