Delete your PinoyJungle account

Delete your PinoyJungle account
This page covers the online shop PinoyJungle (pinoyjungle.com) and the Android app PinoyJungle, both published by Christina Chaimbault (sole trader PinoyJungle, SIRET 893 058 925 00023). It explains how to request deletion of your customer account, what disappears when you do, and what we must nevertheless keep.
You do not need to be signed in to read this page, nor to send us a request.
How to delete your account
If you can still sign in, you can delete the account yourself, in under a minute:
- Sign in, on the website or from the Android app (“Account” tab → “Sign in”).
- Open the My account page. In the Android app, the “Delete my account” row in the “Account” tab opens this very page in your browser.
- Scroll to the bottom of the page, down to the red “Delete my account” box.
- Click “Delete my account”, then type your password to confirm: that is the only confirmation asked for.
- Deletion is immediate and permanent. You are signed out straight away and the account cannot be restored — you would have to create a new one to order again.
An administrator or reseller account cannot be deleted this way: the site refuses the request. Write to us and we will take care of it.
Can no longer sign in?
Lost password, email address that no longer exists, app uninstalled: write to us at contact@pinoyjungle.com with the subject “Account deletion”, stating:
- the email address of the account to delete;
- the first and last name registered on that account;
- if you have one, the number of an order placed with that account — it helps us confirm it really is you.
We will never ask for your password, nor for a copy of an identity document. Our check consists of replying to the account's email address and waiting for your confirmation.
The request is handled within one month at most, as the GDPR requires (article 12), and usually within a few working days. You receive a confirmation email once the deletion is done.
What is deleted, what is retained
Deleted immediately and permanently
- The account itself: email address, password (stored hashed, never in clear text), last name, first name, phone number, default delivery address, language preference.
- The delivery address book, in full.
- Favourites.
- The current basket, its items and the stock reservations it held — the plants go straight back on sale.
- Conversations with the shop and every message they contain.
- Security settings: two-factor authentication, its secret and the backup codes.
- Devices registered for Android app notifications: no notification is sent any more.
- Any password reset or address verification links still pending.
- The link between your past orders and your account: they are no longer tied to any identified customer.
- Your newsletter subscription, if you had one: it rests on your email address alone, but it is removed along with the account. You stop receiving campaigns.
Retained — why, and for how long
- Your orders and their records (invoice, items, amounts, plus the delivery name, address and email entered at the time of purchase). Why: the law requires us to keep accounting records. Period: 10 years from the close of the financial year (article L.123-22 of the French Commercial Code). These orders are no longer tied to any account.
- Sending logs (emails and notifications). The row remains — it proves a message did go out, on such and such a date — but your email address and the message subject are replaced with an anonymous value as soon as the account is deleted. Nothing identifying you is left in it.
- The security log (sign-ins, failed attempts, sensitive actions). It may still carry the technical identifier of the former account and the email address entered during a sign-in attempt: that is precisely what makes it possible to prove an intrusion afterwards. Period: 12 months, then automatic erasure. Legal basis: legitimate interest (site security).
- Your published reviews, if any: they are attached to the order rather than to the account, and stay online under the first name or pen name you chose. Ask us by email if you would like them taken down.
- Your “Notify me when back in stock” requests: these too rest on the email address alone. They are erased automatically 180 days after the notification is sent; for immediate removal, ask us by email.
Deleting some data without closing your account
Closing your account is not the only way to make a piece of data disappear. From your customer area you can remove the following yourself, at any time and without writing to us:
- A delivery address: My account → Address book → “Delete” on the address concerned.
- Your phone number and default address: My account → My details, clear the fields then save.
- A product from your favourites: the Favourites page, or the heart on the product page.
- An item from your basket: “Remove” in the basket — the matching stock reservation is released at the same time.
- Your newsletter subscription: My account → Preferences, untick the box. The “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of every email works too, without signing in.
- Notifications on your phone: Android app → Account → Settings, turn notifications off. Signing out of the app also removes the device registration.
Anything else — a published review, a message sent to the shop, a past order — cannot be removed from the customer area. Write to us at contact@pinoyjungle.com stating which data you mean: we reply within one month at most (GDPR, article 12). Orders are the one exception, as the law requires us to keep them.
Your rights
Deleting your account is how you exercise your right to erasure (article 17 of the GDPR). You also have rights of access, rectification, restriction, objection and portability: a request to contact@pinoyjungle.com is enough, answered within one month. If our answer does not satisfy you, you may lodge a complaint with the CNIL.
