What is a cutting?: A piece of a plant (stem, node or leaf) taken from a healthy mother plant, already rooted or ready to root. It is the cheapest way to start: the plant is young and needs a little patience while it settles in.
What is an established plant?: A plant that is already rooted and acclimatised, grown in a pot for several weeks or months. It picks its growth back up as soon as it reaches you — ideal if you want an immediate result.
Care tips: Drain the bottom of the pot with a good layer of gravel or clay pebbles. A good commercial potting soil will suit it perfectly. Water twice a week during the growing season (April to September) so that the soil never dries out more than 2 cm at the surface between waterings. In winter, water once a week and never let water sit in the saucer. Keep a good level of humidity by misting the plant or placing it on a large saucer filled with clay pebbles kept moist.
